Parent Opportunities @MSTA

Part of the MSTA Mission Statement states:

We will empower families to contribute to their student’s success, assuring that students become committed, lifelong learners, and productive globally-minded citizens.

We believe that partnering with parents is crucial to our  success.   We offer a variety of ways for parents to become involved at Mill School and Technology Academy.  

Parent Teacher Corporation (PTC)

The Parent Teacher Corporation (PTC) raises funds to enrich the educational lives of our Mustangs.  Through various fundraisers they are able to provide one field trip for each grade level, fund supplemental educational programs and help with campus beautification.  

Room Parents 

Each teacher seeks out a parent or two to be the Room Parent for their class.  Room Parents are responsible for working with the teacher to coordinate volunteers, classroom celebrations and communicate needs within the school.   

Dad's Club

This club is open to any parents that are interested in helping to beautify our campus and promote literacy.  Most recently the Dad's worked with the custodial staff to organize the equipment bin for students to have more access during recess.  In the are of literacy, they have hosted two successful Read-a-thons.  Dad's Club will meet three times over the course of the year as part of the PTC agenda.  

School Site Council (SSC)

School Site Council consists of parents, classified and certificated staff.  Elected members serve a two year term to advise the development of the sites school plan for student improvement. Elections will take place in August/September. 

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) advises the SSC on how to best support the school's population of English Learner's.
